This is the online home of She's Not
My Sister Photography, named in
honor of Tucker's (that's him up there
keeping an eye on us) longstanding
denial of his relationship with his
adopted sibling, Maggie (that's her, on
the right).
I've always enjoyed taking pictures and
musing about light and color, but two
years ago, I decided to seriously take
up the study of the art and science of
photography - a humbling endeavor, to
be sure. My goal, simply stated, is
twofold - to create images that reveal something the casual observer might not see
and to represent ideas and/or emotions, not just things. No small task. After two
years of looking through my viewfinder, I have learned one valuable lesson -- there
are potential images everywhere, often in the most unlikely or mundane settings --
it's just a matter of learning how to see.
As you look through the catalog, you'll find a wide range of subject matter and
interpretation, a natural result of my intention to try different perspectives and
techniques. I hope you find some of the images interesting. Feel free to e-mail me
with comments or questions.
